GETTING HERE
We are located in the Old Library building on The Hayes in Cardiff City Centre (postcode CF10 1BH). The entrance to the museum is on Working Street, access is via a ramp with a handrail or six steps with a handrail.
There is no carpark at the museum, for parking and travel information follow this link to Cardiff Council’s website.
GETTING AROUND
The museum is set over two floors, Ground Floor (GF) and Basement Level (BL).
(GF) Cardiff in Context: This gallery is on the ground floor and has level access with wide routes throughout. This gallery has low light levels and an audio soundtrack playing on repeat.
(GF) Tiled Corridor: The Tiled Corridor is on the ground floor with access via a small step, there is no ramp access. This area has low light levels.
(BL) City Lab and City Showcase: These galleries are on the basement level of the building, with access via a lift or a flight of stairs with a handrail. These galleries are well lit and have level access with wide routes.
(BL) Learning Suite: Basement level with access via a lift or a flight of stairs with a handrail. Lighting levels can be adjusted in this room.
(BL) Accessible Toilet: There is an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities on the basement level, accessed via a lift or a flight of stairs with a handrail.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Audio/Visual Guides: Portable handheld devices are available in English, Welsh, French, Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese. Portable handheld guides are also available in British Sign Language (BSL) and enhanced audio description.
